A life well lived Ted Fitzpatrick passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2024, at his home in Moncton’s Franklin Crossing neighbourhood. Born in Montreal on May 14, 1943, he spent his formative years in Ottawa. He enlisted in the Canadian Forces signal corps on completion of high school, and after six years of military service in Germany returned to civilian life to resume his education. He then launched a successful business career, working for several large corporations before opening his own boat and recreational vehicle dealership in Barry’s Bay, Ontario. Just over a week ago, I made a firm decision to put an end to the influx of unnecessary junk mail overflowing in my mailbox. The breaking point was a tiny book, absurdly thick and seemingly destined for the trash bin upon arrival. This blatant wastage sparked a realization of the sheer volume of these items meeting their fate without a second glance.
